Baha'i Era 171!

Happy Naw Ruz and Blessed Ridvan to all my Baha'i friends out there!

Since my last post which was a good half a year ago, quite a lot has happened. Our family has been blessed with wonderful friends and family support when my brother in law passed away in Egypt mid December in a tragic accident. My husband was away for 6 weeks and it was an emotionally and physically testing period for us.

The kids and I had our fair share of all kinds of bugs, we had tonsillitis several times, we had chicken pox, upper respiratory tract infections to name a few ;)

In January, we managed some summer outings when we were not too sick at the zoo, parks, beaches. We had the lovely Florence who was visiting us for a while and was extremely helpful with the kids while Hamada was away. Thanks Florence!!! We miss you! Jenna still says Ayi ayi (Aunty in Chinese) when she sees the sandals you bought her :) The highlight of this month was also a very much needed time alone away in Raglan without the family so I had time to recharge, reflect and relax. Thanks to Shireen who also recommended me the book Replenish by Lisa Grace Byrne (I definitely recommend to all moms out there who feel overwhelmed and flat out like me) It helped me out of my drowning phase to be able to float now. Thank you Lisa too indirectly!

CNY and summer times

In February, we had a nice Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration with a family who was cool with the chicken pox virus as we were contagious during that period and had a good time together with great food! CNY is never complete without family and good food!

In March, I was lucky to have Mom come visit us and join us for part of the Fasting month and Naw Ruz so that was really nice. We also had the opportunity to celebrate her birthday for her and I baked a chocolate cheesecake for the first time which turned out quite well.

Happy Naw Ruz!
Fun times with Grandparents
In mid April, Dad managed to squeeze in a really whirlwind trip here for a week but we loved it. It was so nice to have him here and the kids to spend some time with their grandpa. And moving forward, a new chapter of our lives... I am looking for work and hopefully, something comes up soon as it has been quite a tough one to find work since four months ago. Will try to update the blog again in the near future. Take care you all! hugs :)
